My Story

As part of World Cancer Day 2026 some of the Cancer Nursing team at SASH have decided once again to celebrate the day by walking from Crawley Hospital to East Surrey Hospital, finishing at the East Surrey Macmillan Centre. This will take plac on Sunday, 8th February 2026.

This year the theme marks the second chapter of the United by Unique campaign. Our focus on people-centred care that reflects the needs, values and lived experiences of individuals and families. To highlight what it means to see the person before the patient, enabling people living with cancer to actively participate in their care.

Every experience with cancer is unique, and it will take all of us, united, to create a future where everyone is seen, heard and supported. So we are keen to share stories and raise awareness of the cancer care given locally.
