This initiative allows individuals and teams to dedicate 24 hours, split over a timeframe of your choice, to engage in activities your liking, all while making a difference in the lives of those who work tirelessly in our Emergency Departments.

Our Emergency Department plays a critical role in our community, offering essential care to those in need 24/7. However, the relentless demands on emergency healthcare professionals can take a toll. We aim to show our support and gratitude by rallying together for a cause that directly benefits staff, enabling them to rest in an environment they deserve between life-saving duties.

How can you get involved?

Participation is easy and flexible - individuals or teams can choose any activity, hobby or challenge to undertake for a total of 24 hours, spread over a timeframe that suits you. Whether it's a 24 hour gaming marathon, a series of mini challenges, or any other creative/sporty endeavour, your dedication will make a significant impact.

The first 20 participants to raise £500 in our '24 hours for the Emergency Department' fundraiser will have their donations matched by London Gatwick, doubling the impact of your support.

London Gatwick shares our commitment to community wellbeing and recognises the crucial role the Emergency Department plays in keeping our communities safe. Their generous matched funding is a testament to their dedication to supporting the tireless efforts of our healthcare professionals.

How do I sign up?

1) Choose your activity - select an activity you love or have always wanted to try. You can upload your time spent completing your activity to your page using apps such as Strava.

2) Set your 24 hour goal - plan how you will spread your 24 hours over a timeframe that suits your schedule.

3) Create your fundraising page - sign up as an individual or form a team with friends, family or colleagues and show your support to our Emergency Department. Simply tap the 'start fundraising button' to create your page.

Donations to this page are designated for the purpose of enhancing the Emergency Department at East Surrey Hospital. Any money remaining in the fund when the fundraiser concludes, or which cannot be used in the Emergency Department will support other charitable activities for patients, families and staff across SASH NHS Trust.
